Week #38 Ride for Randy

Week #38 - 432 miles

On Saturday was Randy's Memorial Last Ride and there was a great turnout for it. It is awesome that so many cyclist honor him by coming out and doing the ride. A small group of us went off the front and kept the pace going all day. I was able to get in 120 miles, which was a little more than I had planned. Even with tired legs, I was able to hang on with them. Sunday I took the mountain bike out for 60 miles just to get some time in the saddle so I am a ready for next Saturday. I plan on starting around 7am and doing 100 miles in Van Dorn Park. Should be fun!

Week #37 Another big day

Week #37 - 431 miles

Well another big ride this week. I got in 202 miles on Saturday on a very nice fall day. It was a little breezy, but we had a cross / tailwind for a big chunk of the day. I met up with Josh heading down to Beatrice and we rode the Solstice course then I rode back home. Even though I had felt a little under the weather all week, the ride went very well. I was right at 12 hours for ride time and 12:57 for total time. I also made it over 16,000 miles for the year this week.

Some other yearly random stats: 52 rides of 100+ miles, with 4 of them of 200+ miles, 14 consecutive weeks of 400+ miles, 25 consecutive months of 1,100+ mile, 0 days off in 2020.

Week #36 Things keep rolling along

Week #36 - 415 miles

I got in #50 & #51 100+ miles this week. Both were fairly easy days, with Saturday's ride with Josh. He is just getting back into it and we did a good amount of climbing also. The other big thing is that as of this weekend, I have put in my second biggest year on the bike. It helps when you don't have to worry about races, can ride every day, and get in a bunch of 100+ days every week. It has been lots of fun riding so much even with being tired a lot and trying not to get sick. The past few days I have been extra tired so I am trying to sleep as much as possible. Next Saturday I have another big day planned. I am going to ride with Josh down to Beatrice and do the Solstice 100 course and ride back home. Hoping to make it a 190-200 mile day. The weather looks good so far and hopefully the wind won't be much of a factor.

Week #35 15K Down!

Week #35 - 401 miles

Went over 15,000 miles for the year this week. Happy with how the year has gone - 49 100+ rides, no days off, 400 mile ride and a 668 mile week. I know a lot of this would not of happened if there would have been races taken place. As I have said before, this has been a very fun year to try to do some different things and push myself. I know I am very lucky to be able to continue to train at a level that I do. It has also been fun the past few days to get on the mountain bike more. I really enjoy getting out in the park and riding at VDP. I am hoping that I will be able to get my 100 miler in VDP in October. Almost 70 laps in there will be hard, but doable.
