Week #44 Another BIG Week - 621 miles

Week #44 - 621 miles

This might big my last big week of the year, but who knows. Depending on how the weather holds out, I would like to get one more "big" ride in during November. This week, I got in 4 rides of 100+ miles to bring my total for the year up to 79. I hope to get in 8 more so I will have 200 during my ride streak. Should be doable!
Saturday was a nice chill ride with Randy as we headed down to Beatrice for some donuts. Then stopped in Cortland for some kolaches. On Sunday it was good to hit up some new roads around Dwight. I hope to get a bunch more rides up in that area while prepping for IWAR next spring.

Week #43 A pretty good week except for a possible frame mishap

Week #43 - 550 miles

Got in a few good rides this week. On Thursday, I rode 130 miles since the weather was so nice. Didn't really plan on going that far but glad I did. Saturday Randy & I did 70 miles over in Washington county. Some great roads over there along with quite a few hills. There were some that were almost 15% - so fun. Today it was really windy but there was a good group of us to start with down the trail. By the time we got to Beatrice it was myself, Kevin, & Drew. Coming back to Lincoln was really easy since we had a 20+ mph wind pushing us along. The only bad thing is I think my Lauf is toast. The bottom bracket casing seems to be loose, like what happen to my first frame. I will see what Erik says tomorrow, but I fear the worst. The good thing is it lasted me 33,600ish miles.

Week #42 Rolled over 20K this week

Week #42 - 518 miles

I rolled over 20,000 miles for the year during this week. This gives me three consecutive years of 20K miles of riding. Not sure what the year will end up at, but it should be in that 24K to 25K range. I also got in my 73rd ride of 100+ miles in. I wasn't planning on going very far today since I thought I would ride to Larry's ride and come straight home. Glad I got it in, but I am a little tired after doing 117 miles yesterday. There are 11 more weeks left in the year, so I would like to get in 12 more rides of 100+ to bring it up to 85 for the total. We will see!

Week #41 Still recovering

Week #41 - 402 miles

Even though I did two 100+ mile rides this week, it still was an easy, recovery week. Especially this week where I was spending time back at the ranch with my family. I do feel like I am good and recovered from Cannonball, but now I need to figure out a couple more bigger rides to try to get in for the rest of the year. I would like to get in a long ride in Kansas over Thanksgiving weekend if the weather will cooperate.

Week #40 RECOVERY TIME!!!!

Week #40 - 407 miles

September - 2424 miles

I feel that I am pretty much recovered from Cannonball. Even though I got in 400+ miles this week it seemed easy. Yesterday's 100 miles ride went really well and my legs felt fairly fresh. I plan on taking another couple weeks of easy riding to make sure that everything is good before another big day in the saddle. I really don't have much else planned for this year but it would be nice to get in another 200+ miles ride in but probably not until November. A lot will depend on how the weather holds. Maybe another long day in Kansas will be in order.
