Week #8 8 weeks out til IWAR

Week #7 - 429 miles

This was another tough week to get some miles in. The weather has been crappy and cold. Hopefully we are in for a little warmer trend coming up. I was able to get in 131 miles on Sunday even though I didn't feel that great. My whole body has just been a little tired lately but I haven't been putting in that many miles. I know once it warms up a bit things will come around. It would have been nice to get in around 150 miles this week but I need to wait until we get a little better weather. 

 

Week #6 & #7 Return of Ol' Man Winter Part #2

 

Week #6 - 437 miles

Week #7 - 375 miles

Well we finally got some snow! The week started off nice but that quickly changed when we got about a foot of snow. Luckily it has been melting quickly and hopefully in a few days the roads will be dry. I was able to get in my 10th ride this year over 100+ miles and it was #215 during the ride streak. Not really concerned this year about how many 100+ rides or overall mileage, but more about the adventures. I did come down with a little bit of a cold so my motivation level was pretty low to get out and ride much. I do need to start prepping a little for Iowa Wind and Rock that will be happening in April. Next month I will try to get a 200+ mile ride in. The good thing is with all of the work I have done in the last couple years, I am confident going into the event. 

Week #5 It has actually warmed up a bit

 

Week #5 - 444 miles

January - 2061 miles

So it decided to warm up a bit this week and most of the snow / ice has melted around here. January was a fairly cold month, especially the last part. I was able to get in over 2,000 miles for the second year in a row. Having the big week in Arkansas really helped out. We will see how February pans out, but I hope to get in a long ride in preparation for IWAR in April. I now have had my Seigla for one month and it has been a nice bike. Having the big tires really helped out when everything was so icy. It has a pretty smooth ride out on the gravel. Now if I can just figure out the noise coming from the rear wheel, I will be really happy.
