Week #53 That's a Wrap!

 

Week #53 - 442 miles

December - 1625 miles

2022 - 25,548 miles

Well 2022 came to a close and I ended up with 25,548 miles and had every ride outside for the year. I also went over 3 years for the ride streak of 69,163 miles. Some big numbers that probably won't be replicated again. Hopefully the ride streak will continue but 2023 will shift a little of the focus towards bikepacking. There will still be some big mileage weeks with IWAR, Flint Hills Ultra, GPGR - Nebraska Project, GW Long Voyage, and Cannonball 550 all planned for the year. I am really excited for the GRGR Project and hope that we can produce a cool video out of it.

Week #52 It's fricking COLD!!!!

 

Week #52 - 204 miles

This was the coldest week of the year but I was still able to get it all done outside. Also it turned out to be the lowest mileage week I have done in the past 3 years. It is kind of nice to end the year and not have to worry about trying to get in a bunch of miles. This year I was able to meet almost all of the goals I planned out and now I just have to get in a few more days outside to accomplish the last goal. I am really looking forward to 2023 and the adventures that await. 

Week #51 Rolled on past 145,000 Strava miles today

 

Week #51 - 479 miles

Managed to get over 145,000 Strava miles today. Just 8 years to reach the total, so not so bad. Tomorrow I will get over 25,000 for the year and it happens to be my b-day. If you ask me, that's a pretty good present. I also got in #91 for rides over 100+ miles. Probably won't get one in this next week with the artic air that is coming in. On Thursday they are expecting a high of -5F. Probably going to be one of the more challenging day on the bike. Plan on just going to the park for a lap and call it a day.

Week #50 Covid finally hit but got in #90

 

Week #50 - 318 miles

Well after almost 3 years I finally got Covid. Luckily it wasn't very bad and I was able to keep the ride streak going. this week I made it to 1081 days and got in #90 for rides of over 100+ miles for the year. Hope to get a couple more long rides but we will see how the weather plays out. Last big goal will be to get over 25,000 miles which will happen in 488 miles. Been a really fun year and hoping that 2023 will even have some bigger things happen!

Week #49 Rolled over 24,000+ miles for the year

 

Week #49 - 457 miles

November - 2235 miles

Well I managed to get over 24,000 miles so far this year. It has been a lot of work, but for the most part it's been really fun. I have got to ride in some cool places and see lots of country along the way. Not sure what the total will be at the end of the year hopefully a little over 25K. Unfortunately I came down with a nasty cold after Saturday's ride. I was a little tired but it hit me like a ton of bricks during the night. Sunday I was able to get in a short ride and that will probably be the same thing for the next couple days.

Week #48 Ride #200 of 100+ in the books

 

Week #48 - 468 miles

This week I got in my 200th ride of 100+ miles during the ride streak. It only took 1062 days to get it in. Pretty happy to get it done before the end of the year. Now the rest of my long rides will be "bonus days"! On Friday, I was in Lawrence and we got in a 120 mile ride that went north through some really cool roads. It was an easy ride but with some cool folks and we had a great time. We found some awesome MMRs and got in about 7,000 ft. of climbing. I should roll over 24K for the year next week and hopefully get that 25,000 mile mark by the end of the year!

Week #47 It got cold!

 

Week #47 - 492 miles

This week turned cold and windy. Luckily I wasn't planning on getting in a ton of miles this week, so some shorter days were in order. I did go through Wilderness Parks for a loop during Friday's ride to stay out of the wind for a bit. It was nice to get over 23,000 miles for the year and I only have 1 more 100+ mile ride to get over 200 during my ride streak. I may try to get it in on Tuesday since the weather doesn't look too bad. I am going down to Lawrence for the holiday and it will be good to get some miles in down there. hopefully I will be able to join in The Chug on next Sunday.
