Week #4 Texas Chainring Massacre 9th Overall
Week #3 Total - 352 Miles
Saturday was the Texas Chainring Massacre 100 miler. It was so nice to get out of the cold and ride in some warm weather. The race started at 7am so it was still a little chilly but it did warm up fairly fast. I probably still overdressed a bit. The race started out conservative, with a guy taking in the first 20 miles. He didn't come back! The attacks from our group came around mile 55. I didn't have the legs to go. My main goal was to stay within myself and just ride steady. I ended up 9th overall and averaged just over 20 mph. We did have quite a bit of pavement on the course and there was only one big climb, so to average that fast it wasn't really that hard. Now off to Phoenix and spend a week training my but off thinking about DKXL.

Week #3 Damn it's cold out!
Week #3 Total - 350 miles
Winter has hit us hard this week. I was able to continue with getting in over 100 miles in on Saturday, but it was on Zwift this week. I got 5 hours in and it really wasn't that bad. The main thing is you are just sitting there and spinning. I try to break up the ride by having a eating/drinking routine each hour. I also like to just do a loop so I can judge on how many I can get in. Sunday was a good day out in Wilderness Park. For the most part, the trail had been packed down, but I did get to open up the southwest part of the trail. This coming week will be easy riding to get ready for the first race of the year at the Texas Chainring Massacre and then team camp in Phoenix. It will be nice to ride in some warm weather and get a bunch of miles in.

Week #2 Consistency is the key
Week #2 Total - 339 miles
I was able to get in my 10th consecutive Saturday 100+ mile ride this week. This time of year it can be tricky to not have a Saturday that the weather is just total crap. I have have some windy days, and this Saturday was the coldest without much wind. Hopefully my training continues to come along. I will get back into racing in a couple weeks at the Texas Chainring Massacre. This year I will be doing the 100 miler and have a few teammates to ride with (hopefully). The week after that we will be in Phoenix for a week to train. My goal is to get in 6-8 hours a day on the bike while I am out there. It will be nice to ride in a little warmer weather for a change.

Week #1 Out with the old, in with the new
Week #1 Total - 376 miles
2019 turned out to be a big year. 18,144 miles / 1101 hours riding and 16 gravel races. July was a huge month with 2164 miles and 3 races. I averaged 91 hours a month and 21 hours a week on the bike for the year. 2020 will be a little different focus for me. I will be doing a few longer events this year and maybe a little bit of bikepacking. My main goal is to keep having fun on the bike and stay healthy. I don't have any real plans to get in more miles, but I am excited to continue to get closer to 100,000 Strava miles. That should happen next year sometime.
